Introducing CapSoul Co.

CapSoul, founded by Marissa D. Wilson, is a meaningful luggage brand designed for the multifaceted creative entrepreneur and global explorer. Each piece is crafted with extreme modularity and usefulness in mind, emphasizing both functionality and the personal stories of the creatives who use them.

The Opportunity

CapSoul was ideated by a founder who needed additional manufacturing and design capabilities to bring a new product to life—one that was functional, beautiful, and enCAPsulated meaningful solutions for creative entrepreneurs balancing commute efficiency with professional luxury.

The brand required expertise to:

  • Craft highly detailed technical design specifications

  • Source and establish the right manufacturing partnerships

  • Execute multiple iterative sampling rounds to perfect form and function

  • Develop proprietary hardware components unique to the brand

  • Engineer a complex modular system integrating various bag components

  • Negotiate and finalize production with stringent quality control standards

  • Execute pre-sale order fulfillment and logisti

Our Solution

The hero product, a backpack, was designed with the philosophy: "Minimal on the outside, functional on the inside." Featuring a 100% custom design and manufacturing process, it includes five additional miniature bags that integrate seamlessly with the backpack exterior utility strap. This system was engineered to provide maximum modularity and user flexibility, making it unlike any travel bag on the market.

When Marissa approached us with a gap in her manufacturing and design capabilities, we recognized the need for a deep technical approach to realize her vision. This project required an immense amount of design and engineering expertise, as the bag needed to be both aesthetically minimal and incredibly functional, featuring:

  • A multi-bag system: Five detachable mini-bags that work together within a single unit

  • Custom hardware: Bespoke clasps, zippers, and modular connection points designed in-house

  • Technical materials: High-durability textiles, lightweight yet resilient structural elements

  • Precision in assembly: Detailed manufacturing guidelines to ensure seamless integration of parts

Our work went far beyond simple design—it was a full-scale technical development project that required seamless collaboration between industrial designers, material engineers, and manufacturing partners.

Here’s how we did it:

  • Technical Design Iterations with our expert design team to refine every function

  • In-house Trim and Hardware Rendering for custom componentry that ensured unique brand identity

  • Material Research and Testing to balance durability, weight, and aesthetics

  • Ongoing Business Development Consultation to refine product design, pricing strategy, and market positioning

  • Manufacturer Partnerships and Sample Management to perfect production quality and scalability

  • Final Logistics and E-commerce Fulfillment for the brand’s pre-sales, ensuring smooth delivery to early adopters
